We're #2

Columbia ranked #2 in Money Magazine's Best Places to Live in the US poll. That means we're pretty high up there.

It's kind of a no brainer really, Columbia is a planned community so it was destined for greatness. Really, who am I kidding. It's not all that it's cracked up to be. We have security guards at our grocery stores. I hate going to them so much that I drive farther to go to the nicer stores where I pay more for the same thing.

We also live in a cul de sac of 5 houses, our street is is off of a street that is a big loop. Our half of the loop is the nice, more wealthy side of the loop. You go to the other side of the loop and it's ghetto.

And part of that charm is how the whole area was set up as a planned community. People of all incomes living in the same area was a big part of their master plan. Great. Now it's still in place but there are areas in town where it's very scary if you're out late or by yourself.

Anyway, congrats to Columbia.

Oh and we can sort of forget about Ellicot City maybe. I've never really spent much time up there. It's technically just up the road but when everything you need is in Columbia why leave?

Where do you rank?
