New Alarm System & Mud and Straw

Yesterday we had a new alarm system installed in the house and it's seemingly very simple to use. So far so good. I'm a bit weary of what will happen when I leave for work in the morning but I should be good to go. We had a motion sensor installed with it that detects body heat but my big question wasn't allowed to be asked to the technician. What will happen if Ghosty decides to go down to the living room where the sensor is? From what I know about ghosts they sometimes can create a heat signature and this should be detected by our sensor, right? I need to find out. For now I'm totally fine not knowing or finding out and just keeping the motion sensor off at night.

And with the heat wave we've had over the last week and half we've had some luck with our grass but no luck with the sod. I think the sod is about dead. We'll most likely have to tear it out and put down grass seed. Some of the grass seed seems to be growing, mostly in the back yard especially where there's some shade covering up the area. The section to the side in the front yard seems to be doing well. I think the section in the front that's both sod and seed has been over-watered, there seems to be tiny mushrooms growing which if I remember correctly is a sign of over-watering. We'll have to see what happens and then in late August when things hopefully cool down we'll put some more seed down and start over.

In the mean time we have lovely mud and straw.
