One Less Bush In The Yard

Earlier this morning we had an appointment with a landscaper to go over what we'd like done in the yard so he could give us a price quote. So about two hours before he was due to arrive I told Jimmy I wanted to hang up the flag. We screwed the holder onto the column. We got the flag put up on the pole. The flag touched the bush in the garden. Jimmy got out the clippers from the garage to trim away the bush branches so the flag wasn't being touched. Then the bush had a big hole.

The bush had to go. And this is really just the base of it. The stump. It took about 6 lawn bags to take this sucker down. It had to have been about 6 to 7 feet across in diameter and maybe 5 feet high.

Then we had a big hole.

And then we had a nice place for our flag to hang freely.

And so in the big hole we're going to plant a white azalea that matches the one we planted a few weeks ago but we'll just have to keep them pruned back once they both get bigger. We're going to plant it in the morning and then possibly dig out one more bush and then run back to Lowes and pick up a replacement.

So back to the landscaping. I think we found our guy. He gave us a great quote. I can't wait to call him on Monday and go ahead and book him!

And we got a package in the mail on Friday. The frame came in for our wedding portrait. We've had this for about a year, the print, but I finally got around to ordering a frame and mat. Check it out.

It's a silver wooden frame that almost looks pewter. I really like it, we hung it in the family room not too far from the wall of wedding crap but whatever.
